Upping the donation goal?

Dr. Nick asked me today that he thinks we should maybe up the goal and bring back old servers, such as racing. It might also allow us to have enough power to bring ZH back up to 54 slots or more. But the downside is, we would need to up the goal by about $30 to get the upper level server we need for that kind of power with 4GB RAM, $40 if we want a quad core with 4GB Ram.

What is your opinion on it guys?

well, i say give it another month or two with the current setup we have now. that way we can be absolutely sure that we'll be able to make the extra $20-30. if we can continue to exceed our current monthly goal then i personnally dont see it being a problem upgrading. it would be nice to have back the racing mod and 54 slot ZH

Yeah I really wanna see this community expand and so far last month we exceeded the donations and this month we also exceeded it but not to the point of handling the upgrades so in order for L0cal to do the upgrades were gonna need to go above the goal.

yep, i would like to see this for the zombiehell server specifically just cause i know that it needs it. especially with it being populated a good amount of the day, along with a the very populated mini-games server. another 30$ wouldnt be too hard on the community, but with more servers comes more chance for members to gain higher levels of responsibility.

I think NotD should give it a shot, it is already a thriving community and i theres always room for more members and servers.
Love it if more people in ZH. I still haven't gotten passed day 13 >=( But im working on it!!

We always go over the goal which is great and get a chance to use them! We might get a chance to get those server and slots. We can always meet new people who can't seem to get in due to high population in our servers. More people = More pwnage in Zombie Hell!!!

It's great that we receive many donates and reach our monthly goals, but I have a question about that. With all the extra donations, where does it all go? Like, will it subtract that to the next monthly goal?

I think it will be a splendid idea to have more slots in the servers.

But if we do that with all the other servers, wouldn't we have to do something about some of the maps on minigames server? Since some of the maps have a limited amount of Ts and CTs, as the rest of the players sit in Spec.

Well, right now I don't have that advanced of a donation box. All the money we have extra just stays in the donation coffer till the time we run short.

Also, we won't be upping the minigames server slots anytime soon.

I'm good with upping it, absolutely.  Along with more servers, is it possible to upgrade the existing servers and bandwidth to increase stability and performance?  I'd vote for that over anything, myself.

I can say going forward that I can donate 50/month gladly, and I know some members donate a pretty much set amount also... Picking just 3 people (myself, Sorrow and Dr Nick), that's pretty much the 130 right there.  And there are so many more generous members and players who donate on top of that, so I am behind upping the donation goal 100%. Even a $200-$300 goal would be easily reachable with a little effort.

Well I think it sounds like a good idea but I haven't donated because atm I have no job, but when I get some of that proverbial "fat cash" ill throw some of it NOTD's way!!!!

Well, after tonight. I went for it. I negotiated with Softlayer and they gave us a hefty discount on a premium quad core 4GB ram server.

I'll update everything in a while. Though if this doesn't work out, we can always go back, worst case.

It is a Quad Core Xeon 3220 4x2.4ghz w/ 4GB DDR2 667 ram.
Our old server was Dual Core Opteron 2x2.0ghz w/ 2GB DDR 400.

I think it's just what we need.
