Need advice...

So I'm thinking of expanding my gaming horizon by purchasing a brand-new console.


The problem is... I'm not sure which.

I'm thinking about buying a Wii, but I'm also putting the cheapest X-Box 360 into consideration. I need advice from my clan/community (Whatever you think NotD is.. it seems to borderline) about the advantages and disadvantages of both consoles. What are your opinions on the consoles, and what can you back up with facts..?

BOTTOMLINE: Which do you think I should buy?

Fact: The Wii has just about zero good shooting games. I haven't searched too hard, but I haven't found any good ones. :/

However, if you want sports and stuff to screw around on it's fun. Other than that, nothing special.

xbox 360:  is pc interfaceable damn good graphics  ok storage  ipod compatible and zune compatible

cons:often break not quiet as pretty as the ps3 or sleak as the wii

ps3: AMAZING(im an xbox fanatic )great games incredibly advanced graphics  psp ineterfaceable idk about using it to link with computers  ipod compatible idk about zune resident evil series is on the system and has an all around easier interface

extra pro ive only seen 2 people with a malfuntcioned ps3

cons: more expensive from what ive seen wireless throughput is kinda slow ffor my liking but waht are ya gonna do  game controllers still kinda suck but can use a keyboard and mouse with it

my honest opinion would be to get the ps3 with the upgraded cd reader to play older ps games aswell

It's motion sensor thingy isn't very accurate though..

I would go for  PS3.

I've owned both PS3 and Xbox 360 and PS2 and Xbox, but I prefer the PS3 between those two.

The xbox is extremely loud, and is basically a radiator-if you live in Alaska, buy it, if not, don't.

Online on the PS3 is free, it's not as developed as XBL, but it is still free.

Wireless adapter actually comes with the PS3, it's integrated - no hidden costs.

You have to pay extra to get a wireless controller with an xbox.

Xbox has a wider range of games, but when you add everything together, i.e wireless, online, wireless controller, hard drive, etc., you are paying more with the xbox.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, I just prefer it all around.

Also, the Blu-ray format has far surpassed HD-DVD's potentiol. HD-DVD movies are rarely even sold in stores now, and that's not to mention that you actually have to pay extra for a HD-DVD reader in the xbox, while the PS3's Blu-Ray comes inclusive.

The PS3 is also the best value for money Blu-Ray DVD player on the planet at the moment, as voted by several gadget magazines.

I would say that I have raised fairly good arguments here, and I would recommend you to buy a PS3!

Oh, and you can also install Linux on the PS3, and RRoDxbox<RRoDPS3

I got RRoD on ps3, just a disc read error, fully refunded straight away.

Another main argument is that the ps3 has a cell processor.

This has 8 cores, instead of the 2/3 core xbox.
There are 7 cores used for the processing and one for something else, but if you are looking for perfomance, get the PS3

Perhaps I should have mentioned this earlier, but I own a 60GB NTSC-UC PS3, the most sought after type... I've collected 23 games on disk, and even more on my 250GB upgraded hard drive.

The topic is about whether I should go with Wii or 360 in "expanding my gaming horizons". I'm a collector of sorts, and I even have an Atari from 1975 that I sometimes play.


What I'm gathering from the posts for now at least is that I should buy a 360 if I'm really desperate for a new console. No one here thinks the Wii is worth owning..?

I bought them on PSN. There usually tiny indie titles that no one has even heard of, although they have some decent ones like The Watchmen.

Awesome PS3 Man. I hear people will pay an arm and a leg for it.

Now the Wii sucks, end of story. I got it as a Christmas present long ago, its still in the box.

Xbox 360 is nice if you enjoy a more expanded online gameplay. I would suggest getting a high end microphone though, because all the low end ones suck at reception.

Ok, the bottom line is, if you have 600 bucks, go ps3. But if not, buy the 1 less than elite xbox 360. O and if you like penis and have crabs get a wii.
